Support Us

Would you like to support pastoralists in the Horn of Africa to continue their way of life, protect their grazing lands and have more control over their development and governance? You can support EPAG UK in its work in a number of different ways.

Making a cash donation:

If you would like to make a donation you can simply click on the justgiving.com icon and send us an online donation using your credit card, or you can send a donation to us in the post. Cheques should be made payable to ‘Emergency Pastoralist Assistance Group’ and posted to:

If you pay income tax or capital gains tax we can claim the amount paid for each donation directly back from the Inland Revenue. All you need to do is download an EPAG UK Gift Aid form, sign the declaration and send it to us with your cheque.

Other ways of supporting EPAG:

Local fundraising is extremely rewarding and fun. It is also a good way of fundraising for specific projects. So if you are keen to ensure that your funds are used for a specific purpose you could choose a project from the list below and then organise an event with a very specific aim.

Last year, for example, one of our supporters organised a sponsored run in Gloucestershire for EPAG and raised £317.94. These funds were used to support an agro-pastoralist community in Kenya to construct a water storage tank for a primary school. Read More.

Local schools and churches are also good places for local fundraising. If you are connected to a local school or attend church regularly you may be able to find out if your local school or church committee is interested in holding a fundraising event for a pastoralist project. To find out more about how to go about this, contact Emily Janke-Pearson.

Becoming a Trustee:

EPAG UK is not currently recruiting new Trustees to their UK-based Board. However we do have regular rounds of recruitment and it is always worth checking our site if you are interesting in becoming a Trustee for a charity that works in the Horn of Africa.

The EPAG UK Trustee position is legally for at least two years. This is voluntary commitment that requires passionate advocates of poor people’s voice within the development arena. Candidates will ideally bring fresh enthusiasm and new ideas from their own profession or community for developing the work of EPAG UK. The key things we look for in potential candidates are:

  • Passion, commitment and organisation
  • Accounting, legal, management, public awareness and/or fundraising capabilities
  • Links to funding sources (public or private), academia and government/international bodies
  • Understanding of politics, economics and society in Africa
  • Understanding of poverty, marginalisation and community organisation
